We are leaving for the airport tonight and flying out for Guatemala tomorrow!!
If you’re reading this, it’s because you’ve either subscribed to my blog or you care enough to see how my journey is going. Maybe you even donated money to my mission fund. Regardless, you have been indescribably vital to what I’m doing. I may be the one going out on this journey, but your prayers, encouragements, and sacrifices have opened the door.
Making this decision to leave my home and go on the World Race for a year was not easy, especially when Covid hit just 3 months later. I’ve spent more time crying over my relationships with you and the uncertainty of the future more than I ever have. I have found a life that I truly love, but yet something was missing. The world says that by the age of 27, I should have it figured out by now; a stable career, settling down, and starting a family. That feels like it would be the easy road. But following Jesus is not taking the easy road. It’s taking the narrow, less traveled route. It may look different for everyone, and for me that narrow road has been selling my possessions, leaving my friends and family, stepping out of my comfort zone, and going out into the world.
When I’ve started to doubt if I’m hearing God correctly, you’ve reassured me that this is the right path. When I’ve doubted my capabilities, you’ve reminded me of the gifts He’s given me and how much I’ve already overcome. There’s been so many times that I’ve just wanted to give up and stay at home. You’ve encouraged me that life with God isn’t easy, but it is always worth the sacrifice. Whether you realize it or not, you have been a huge part of my journey so far.
So, for everything you’ve done, I want to say thank you. Thank you for the paths you’ve walked before me. Thank you for the sacrifices that have set an example for me. Thank you for the sermons you’ve preached. Thank you for the tear-filled encouragements. Thank you for the hugs. Thank you for pushing me toward the will of God when you would rather keep me close. Thank you for the prayers and blessings that I may never know about. I’m here for you, I’m here with you, and I’m here because of you.
