Hey friends! I realized I haven’t fully explained what we’ve been doing in Guatemala, and that’s super important. So here we go 🙂

I and my team (The Mosaic Daughters!) were assigned to work with a ministry called Casa Guatemala in the city of Mixco. To give reference, Mixco is about 45 minutes northwest of Antigua, Guatemala (a really popular tourist area). We weren’t given much information other than it is a plant church started by a pastor named Alexander (aka Alex). We were also told that we would be the first World Race team to be working with this ministry. When we arrived, we discovered we would be staying with a family friend in a 2 bedroom apartment above the house. Maria, Alex’s mom, is staying here as well so that she can cook for us and help in any way. She is an actual saint.

This has been a huge blessing for us, because we have been able to become part of their family in a sense, sharing meals, laughing and trading stories, and getting an authentic Guatemalan experience. They’ve taken us shopping in the market and welcomed us into their home. They even threw a birthday party for Paula with cards, decorations, and cake!

For our ministry, Casa is a church started by Alex that meets every Friday evening in a parking garage. During the week, we are able to help him by visiting homes, delivering food, and praying with people in his community. We’ve seen God provide resources that we’ve been able to distribute throughout the community. Alex has community contacts in different areas of Mixco that build relationships with their neighbors and help to shepherd them within their faith. He has a friend who is a doctor that has been able to offer medical treatment for people in difficult-to-reach areas. We’ve also gotten to organize events for children and women to help them understand who God is and who He is to them. At the bottom, I linked a video of our host so that you can see who he is and what we’ve been doing!

For the first country we’ve visited, I really couldn’t ask for a better experience. We’ve seen God change lives and provide in incredible ways. He’s shown us more of himself and blessed the ministry we’re working with. Next, we will be in Antigua for two weeks to learn more from our World Race leadership and recharge as a squad. Then, it’s off to COSTA RICA!!!! I would love if you could pray for us in traveling, training in the Spirit, and for my fundraising goal of $18,500 by the end of April!

Much love,

Mads
